Davao in cold weather

According to news today, Mindanao will be experiencing the ITCZ which means Intertropical Convergence Zone. Please correct me if I'm wrong. hehe. I woke up this morning afraid to sprinkle my body with waters. I feel so cold. But well, I have no choice. I'd rather feel cold for a moment than to feel uneasy and smell bad the whole day. hahaha. Honestly, I love the weather today. It makes me feel light and bright. Hope this stays for a week.

A little though. I thought I only feel cold physically but I think my heart feels it too. Don't know why either. haaay...

CISCO Certification, Gateway to Success

How do we prove ourselves nowadays? How do we sell ourselves nowadays? Completing a bachelor’s degree is not enough to be able to sell one’s self better than the others. Equipping ourselves with more and more knowledge and skills is the edge in this era. Associate courses, or certifications, let you earn not only skills but the competency in the job market.

Moving in the twenty-first century is not easy. The globalization had made many graduates and job seekers difficulty in keeping at paced with society and the technology as well. It has been in its constant fast pace. If you do not run, you will be left behind.

Just as we are talking about associate courses, the CISCO Networking Academy Program has always been in its constant assistance to the people in the technical world. I have graduated in this course three years ago during my college years. And it has been a very interesting course and training with data networking. Nowadays, Cisco products are the leading and mostly utilized networking products in the world. This means that big and small scale companies are using them. Acquiring the skills and knowledge in this field will be a great edge to you from all others who wish to land a job.

In my study, I have been exposed to theories of computer data networks, its structure, its implementation, design, security and etc. After learning theories, you will be exposed to hands-on training, designing and setting a network, computing for a subnet masks, configuring routers and switches, and etc. It was once a difficult course but because the training itself motivates the students through its convenient learning strategy, like online classes, step-by-step teaching, simulations, etc, difficulty turns into interests and curiosity. I hardly understand subnetting but because my trainer has always been so lenient and determined to teach us, I learned.

I have always dreamed working in a large-scale organization and apply my knowledge and skills in this field. It won’t be hard for me either because I have been backed up by CISCO training program. So, if you want to be one, take the Cisco certification and you’ll be introduced to the world of healthy competency and great opportunity.

I am a... LOSER

For the past days that I have been given time to breathe, I felt that the time stopped and found myself talking not to anybody, but... with me. The small time of separation from work had enabled me to sink my soul in reality. It gave me reflections and realizations in my life. Sometimes I think it is better to occupy my mind with my work so that I'll forget about my life and its reality. Have you able to talk to yourself? Communicating with ourselves will let us see how well we have been doing in our lives and how much have we contributed to our growth as a person, be it a daughter, an employee, a friend, a colleague, etc. And it sometimes pains us, after self-evaluating, we realized we haven't grown at all. How we wish we can escape from this moment, but we can't. And this is what happened to me. Should I be thankful that I have been given this time? I do not know yet because in these times, I always feel weak. I always fear what life has to bring me, yet I wanted to believe that I am strong to face what my life would be in the near future. Should I do these? or those? So much to worry of, so much to consider.

I reevaluate myself. And it all boiled down to one... afraid to fly. Why? because I am afraid that I will fall. I realized that I rather stay in land to be safe. I realized that I'd rather be in my nest than to explore the sky. That I rather continue living a life than to make a life. Afraid that if I do not succeed, I cannot live in the expectations of the many. Afraid that in what I do, I will fail.

These realizations grew more intense after reading Paolo Coehlo's Zahir. I have never been too engrossed and attached reading a pocketbook, yet his caught my heart. I shed teardrops reading this book because it taught me the importance of the people around me, the significant others, careers, finding one's self, knowledge, wisdom, risks, etc. I found my heart weeping for the time I spent useless and idle. And all these times, I thought I have gained my respect for myself but I haven't. All were just beliefs. Then I concluded... I have been a loser...

Got eyebags...

Have I mentioned that I only slept two hours yesterday? After watching Dal Ja til dawn, I woke up near 7Am and attended mass in our parish. I am 5 minutes late but since I was able to catch up before the gospel, it was fine. After the mass, I went to Carmelite Church for a petition and meditation. I want to find solemnity in my soul since my heart is feel burdened yet I do not know why. I want enlightenment. After meditation, I went home and ate breakfast. I arrived by 10AM.

I have no time to waste. The book, Zahir, that I borrowed from my good friend was already 3months in my possession. I felt guilty that I was not able to read it until he arrived from Japan. So I felt tasked to read and return it by tomorrow. I stayed the whole day upstairs so nobody could distract me. And so it goes, I finished reading the book by 6PM. My eyes are puffed and I felt floating. I had dinner and soon, I fell asleep...

Completing Dal Ja's Spring View

Sugoiiii!!!! It's exactly 4:32AM right now and we just finished watching the whole episode of Dal Ja's Spring. Ohhh.. as usual it leaves me a loving feeling. Why does it always to be like that? damn... *sigh* Anyway, like any other k-series the ending leaves the viewers a bit hanging. Inspite of it, all episodes are great. There was no dull moments/parts while watching. I won't be giving reviews with the drama coz I want everyone to watch how the story moves. Another great masterpiece of koreans. One thing though, will I still manage to sleep by this time? haaayyy... jaa! my eyeballs are almost to drop. have a nice morning! Read more...

Exhausted, but Happy...

I feel happy even if I'm exhausted coz I will fin'ly be able to rest this weekend. For the previous Saturdays, even Sundays, I have exhausted myself from work, pressured to accomplish every tasks I was given. And today, I freed myself. Whew! Now I am breathing.

I feel exhausted not only because of work but because of too much relaxation. Now this seemed to be ironic huh hehe. For the whole week I indulged and treat myself with food and coffee, staying late at night outside.

Last night was the night I stayed so late. I treated my good friend for a dinner and coffee because she passed the nursing licensure exam. Later, we tried the newly opened coffeeshop in Damosa with my other friend. It's Cafe Firenzo. It was my first time there and I was not really impressed with the mood of the place. Since it can accommodate many customers, the place is annoying, not suitable for people who wants to relax. They also serve too slow. We ordered two smoothies but we almost waited an hour. Next time when I have my coffee I'll go back to my hideout. (you know where it is)

Nonetheless, thanks to my friends. The place may not be too good but because of them, I had a good night.

Bumping with Another Old Friend

It seems this month I was able to meet long time friends and acquaintance. Though I hardly get out of the house and meet friends, time keeps me get in touch and bump with them again.

Just yesterday when I felt too light and happy ( coz I was able to breathe) I posted a hima status message in my YM account. I did not expect that I would be able to meet and greet a friend (I don't know if he considers me one hehe) and one of the influential persons in my life. Influential because he was my educator in my college years. I was happy I met him because we only see once a year.

Hima in Japanese means free. Seeing this status message made him dropped me a message or should I say deceiving one? hahaha. He actually challenged me how free I am that time so he say I should treat him then. Thinking that he was in Manila, I hastily invited him for a coffee. He added to treat him a dinner too. “Sure”, I said. Then he ask where and when we will meet. I know that would be very impossible. He’s in Manila so how would he come here and join me for a sip of coffee? I have my guts then. He told me I treat him a dinner at Swiss Deli and we’ll drink coffee at Fagioli after. So I say, “ok”. I was shocked when he told me he will be in the office after 20 minutes. BLAGS! This is a disaster. Am I deceived? Waaaah…. I have no choice coz I have given my word. But I was thankful too because I was supposed to drink coffee alone and unwind so his presence was a blessing too.

So it goes I treat him a dinner and we had coffee after. He treat me the latter. We had long talks and parted ways by eleven in the evening. Too bad I have no new and special topics to share as my life was a constant boredom. Gomen ne… but thankful I am he did the talking hehe. Jaa mata rainen ne.. Arigatou gozaimashita!

The Awakening of the WarGames 25th Anniversary

Temp-image_1_1

What is your unforgettable 1980s movie? Mine would be the God's Must be Crazy. Who would dare forget the innocent Nixau's extraordinary adventure / misadventures in the city. It was a very funny movie worth watching repeatedly. How I wish a remake of it be shown.

Glad there are other movies who are revived nowadays. WarGames 25th Anniversary will be shown to give credit to the movie WarGames after twenty-five years. This movie is about a computer hacker who breaks into the most intricate data security system of US and found himself in a confrontation with global proportions World War III. Now he must find a way to outwit his opponent and finish the game to avoid nuclear armageddon.

This is a very interesting movie for techy and electronic savvy. Watch the full show on July 24, 7:30PM. This is only a one-night show so better grab your tickets now!

Working @ Fagioli

I have not completed my application for a scholarship/training yet. It has been two weeks since I started gathering my requirements and I never thought filling up the application form would take me longer than procuring the necessary documents. I have spent lavishly staying at coffee shop for a while now to complete my application. Of course I do not want to stay in the house with those annoying siblings I have. I could not concentrate making an article if I stay in the house early. We are a big family which means when we are all together, we'll make the house crumble with our loud mouths. We seem to not ran out of stories to share especially if my aunt is there. Okay so much for a family acquaintance hehe.

Now back to where we started. I again went to Fagioli for my favorite Iced Irish Cream coffee, that is after I had a chat with my long time friend in YM. I was supposed to finish the article in the office extending two hours from the regular office hours but since our talk became interesting, I have not noticed I spent two hours chatting and zero minute writing the article. So it boiled down into staying again in Fagioli to finish everything. Since my head aches a bit, I also wanted to relax a little. But I have not given a chance to relax because I was pressured to finish the article as I will be forwarding it to Manila by tomorrow by mail. The deadline is approaching and my work in the office seem to not give me time for myself so I have to finish it tonight.

I was so tired when I got home but I have to encode and consolidate all the writings so it will read great. I still have to beat another opportunity in blogging so I barely got the chance to take a nap. My eyes are puffing now but got no choice, I have to complete everything!

Your partner wants to marry you but you're not ready yet?

It was a bit odd running across an old friend in the internet and talking abruptly about life's worries and excitements. Odd because we were never close in the first place yet we seem to be very comfortable talking about our lives.

It has been long long time ago (now I'm storytelling...) that I have not been engaged into relationships and I was the one consoling somebody who seemed to be very good and expert at it. Again, odd, isn't it? Well, maybe it was made that way. Someone outside the relationship is able to see what's within the world of lovers. You seem to oversee what is happening unlike when you are enclosed in it.

I thought being single has given anxieties to people like us but won't it be more anxious when you're in the relationship and your partner is eager to marry you and yet you are not prepared yet? Well in these situations, women are the ones pushy in the relationship, afraid that as they lengthen the relationship they will end up separating. They think it's better to get marry to ensure the relationship will last.

I haven't been in that stage yet but talking with my friend, I realized, as a woman, we should not pressure our partners to marry us. I mean, men do not talk much. We thought what we are doing is ok but to them, it is worrying. To have a long relationship with someone does not guarantee that you will end up marrying. What is your purpose of marrying? Is it just to move to a higher level of the relationship because you have graduated from your teeny-boppy relationship or because you love this person and you want to spend your lifetime with him/her?

For me, it does not matter how long or short your relationship was for as long as you love, understand and respect each other, it is enough to decide for a lifetime relationship. And add to that, the capacity to live and provide your family in all aspects: physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. If you just got pressured of marrying someone because you stayed long in a relationship, chances are you'll get bored and find something more than the usual. If you love your partner and yet not prepared to marry, then give yourself a time to talk with yourself or take time to distant a bit from your partner and find yourself. Meet a lot of friends along and wander yourself into a vast space. When you feel you are tired, come back to your significant someone and decide. When you finally got the answers and soothed yourself, be sure you do not left your relationship hanging so as not to hurt him/her.

Life is not easy and marriage isn't a game where you call for a time-out. Seek what contents you then start a life.

Well, all these are just my opinions. If you are a guy and your partner wants you to get married but you are not ready yet, what will you do?

Amazing Fight Masters: Special Forces

I just watched NatGeo's Fight Masters featuring Special Task Forces. Wow! They are all amazing. The first test I saw was a former US Navy Seal. His body was dipped in the cold waters nearly 13C of temperature for 60mins. His physiological and psychological endurance was tested by passing obstacles and shooting an adversary. It was amazing how he acted and think the same when he was first tested normally in regular temperature. What was more amazing is how he shoot the target more precisely than before.

The second one was a former commando assigned in Israel for a special battle. Since the Middle East has extremely hot temperature, he was put in a test under the very hot light reading nearly 123C. The objective is to remove 3% of his body’s water weight. He was tested to assemble a gun and shoot an adversary. Again, the test shows an amazing reaction from the commando. His time of assembling the gun is faster than he was under normal body state and his precision was still the same.

After watching the show, I somehow feel I wanted to be like them. Now that’s too much of me hahaha. Kidding aside, I really salute these men. They are really amazing! I just can’t stop saying amazing coz they really are! AMAZING!!!

A View of Davao

This is Mahan Garden Resort, the place I went last Saturday. Isn't it relaxing? I took the picture and was amazed how beautiful the capture was. It was a view soothing to the eyes and soul. I made it my desktop wallpaper in the office so everytime I see it I feel relaxed. The place is near the barge port. Take a right turn once arrived in Samal. The placed is managed by a Japanese-Filipino descendant family.

Scorching Monday

I filed a leave of absence yesterday, Monday, to prepare all the necessary requirements for a future I wish to fulfill. Well as usual t'was a scorching day. Oh mean, very scorching as it was not ordinary for me going out at daytime. It was a very expensive day too as I was always riding a taxi instead of jeepney. I prefer it then rather than burning my skin under the sun (I won't be visible then if that's the case hehe). I completed everything except for one. Another Exhausting Weekend!

No rest for this week for me. Yesterday, we worked for a convention of the company and Japanese employers at Samal. Though I had fever I had to come for duty. The venue was in Mahan Garden Resort, just near the port. It was a beautiful resort but I was not able to take a sip of its relaxation since it was a work on purpose. We stayed until 8pm for a dinner party. After which, we still went to the office to fix everything.

Today, Sunday, I was scheduled to go to Calinan Museum to help in the arrangement of the artifacts. It was my first time commuting as our service was not available today andI realized it wasn’t easy after all. Even though the van was air-con I haven’t felt the coolness touched my cheek and we were too packed inside so I hardly move a bit. Even so, I managed to keep cool so my day won’t be too bad after all. I went home around 8pm.

Damn! I'm sick today. My body was too weak to wake up this morning. I was scheduled to go to the clinic early this morning for a blood typing but since I am sick, I woke up at 8am. I still took a bath because the day must be very hot and I could not endure sweating. Instead of going to clinic first, I went to UIC for the authentication of my OTR as I am applying for a future training. It's Saturday today so the school opens only half day. For my first day of class, I was faced with memorizing a few Nihongo characters which is in Hiragana. It was a bit burden on my part memorizing them but a fulfillment is what I also felt when I was able to answer during our recitation. We were asked to identify the characters then. Cleaning is a MUST with Dirt Devil AccuCharge!

I bought an LCD monitor for my pc set in the office to make it more convenient for me to work. I dumped my old monitor in the storage room and set up my new monitor. I had to rearrange my desk so it will look clean and nice. Seeing my area filled with dirt and dust, I grabbed for our vacuum cleaner to tidy up my area. I was having a hard time doing the cleaning for it was too bulky for me using the vacuum. I remembered that there was a vacuum cleaner that is conveniently used because of its wireless feature, meaning I do not have to plug the wires and switch it on. And yes, I remembered! It was the new Dirt Devil AccuCharge Stick Vac and Hand Vac vacuum cleaner. And it was not just an ordinary vacuum cleaner, it is a cordless vacuum cleaner that will make you save energy because it is Energy Star approved. Energy Star is a government-backed program helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior energy efficiency.

The new Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner utilizes the AccuCharge Technology. That means, it is a high-efficiency charging system that saves time and money while you do your part to reduce energy consumption. This advanced system makes AccuCharge the first cordless vacuums to be Energy Star approved.

With the new Dirt Devil AccuCharge cleaner, you do not have to make cleaning a burden but a part of your recreational activities.

Intoxicated with Work

It looks like place is not the only thing that is flooded, people too. Recently, I have been flooded with work that I seldom, or actually it has been a month now, that I have visited the malls.
