Reminiscing...

I never thought that a simple scene would bring me back to my past. I have been escaping from it a few months now and yet i could not forget everything. It all seems everything cannot be forgotten and what i could do now is just to live up with it.

Just yesterday when i was all alone in our room watching koreanovela, i realized that a tear ran down my cheek and soon i was crying. It's really hard to get over with someone you fell in love with. But with God's guidance I know I can get over this. I just hope it would happen soon...

PNJK Family Tree Planting
October 30, 2006
CASEDO, Marahan

After that very tensed experience we have on our IT Pro class, I finally able to rest all day last Sunday. Though I was not called to present on our IT Pro class, I was still drained the next day and I made use of the day to get a rest.

And now, it's monday and we had a tree planting activity with PNJK family. I wasn't able to sleep well coz I was afraid I could not wake up early and be left. So instead of waking up to the time I set for alarm which was 4AM, I woke up at 3AM! Oh God! I felt so groggy that time but there was none I could do! I woke up and switched on the computer so I could surf the net while it was still early. Damn! I could not connect to the Internet. After almost an hour of waiting, I decided I should take a bath so I would be cooled down. I realized to switch it off for nothing!

My things are all set and I was just waiting for the clock to tick at 5AM so I would leave the house and head for office. And so I did. I headed for office and at 5:30AM I arrived at the assembly place just at the nick of time! I thought everybody was already set at the place but I saw only two people sitting and waiting for the others to arrive.

We departed for Marahan at 6:05AM and arrived at the area at 8:15AM. Damn! I thought we would start immediately after reaching our destination but we wasted our time waiting! The planting activity started at around 9:30 for we have to wait for the
others to arrive but of course, who am I to comment... whew!

After the tree planting activity, we trekked the area and passed through small rivers... t'was a nice experience. The most exhausting part was when we have to go back to where our van parked. The steepness of the mountain took a breath! We could hear our breathing so loud and the pounding of our heart was like a drum beat in our ears.

We finally got over the area at 1:30PM and headed back to the office. As we were approaching our return, we dropped by the landmark of the Okinawans who built the monument in memory of their ancestors who passed away in that area. The monument was facing the wonderful view of Mt. Tamugan just located in Calinan. We took pictures as a remembrance of the group.

Tomorrow, another activity is awaiting for us tomorrow. We will be going to Quiboloy's Paradise in Tamayong hehe. Another experience awaits for me tomorrow!

Insights on IT Pro

Whew! I really thought I was not going to make it! Tadan!!! I'm done! hahahaha It seems like it was just yesterday when I first stepped into this class and now t'was finally finish! So before I finally got over with this subject let me just give my insights about it... (a requirement, actually!) hahaha. But anyway, here they are...

What three major learnings have you learned from the class?

One major learning was when we were introduced to Pivot Tables in Excel. I honestly don't have any knowledge that it even existed!

Another one is the Case Study. The exposure in case studies bring out my concentration and analysis on the matter.

Lastly, I really learned a lot from the final requirement our professor gave us. I got the experience to work with my classmates. It was really a very nice experience. Great analysis of the case extracted so much juices on my brain. hehe

What should the professor continue doing in the subject?

I think the professor should continue everything he had done with the class. I really believed that we did not just gained knowledge in the class but moreso let us be molded to be a more responsible individuals. We may complain at times because we were bombarded with so much activities and classworks but these are but trainings to give space for improvements.

What should the professor improve on the subject?

The professor may add another workload for his students for as long as they will be given enough time for them to accomplish them earlier.

And I would just have to add. It would be better if the students can go home early from the class. Early not as early morning because we sometimes go home at 12 midnight!!! Oh dear... hope it won't happen to the next class anymore!!!

The Verdict

Whew! Hours from now we will be facing another storm of our lives! haha... We will be presenting our very much prepared project proposal... I say 'very much' but honestly IT WASN'T! I wonder if we could deliver the presentation well in our IT pro class. haha I wish we can... (crossing fingers) God forbid we will be facing our verdict of death! waaaahhhh... Read more...

So real...

Just two days ago, the organization conducted a tree planting orientation in preparation for our tree planting this coming monday as part ofthe staff development activity. It was a whole day activity supposed to be but glad t'was finished at 2pm so my co-staff invited us and decided to go to their house and watch dvd movies.

That was my second time visiting there. We just loved their house a.k.a movie house 'coz once you begin watching movie there you will feel you were in the movie itself. Big screen and wonderful audio... whooh! I felt so envied coz I don't have that kind of mini-theater to die for! hahaha... Watching the Amityville was a thrill! We constantly scream because felt like we were in the movie running for our lives! Added to that, Ryan Reynolds flashing his great body! haha We finished watching 3 movies that day and I just wanted to be back there all the time... t'was just so real...

Team Meetings

A week after the advising project was assigned to us, our group met for discussions. There we assigned individual task so we could accomplish them the next time we meet again. Shenna and I were tasked on the documentation part of the project and the men were on the technical aspects.

A week after, we met again for the update and further discussions of the project at sir norwynn's place. We weren't able to come up with a good analysis of the project because we lacked time reading the case. We really thought it was an easy task but it wasn't. Succeeding meetings were done so we could exchange ideas on the project and yet we haven't completed them yet... *sigh* Well... Parkinson's Law is at its best again...

thE 0uTdatEd bL0g... ;p

Nori asked me if I have updated my blog, and I said, "I haven't". This, almost everyday, is constantly asked and I must admit I am a bit ashamed. More so, when he said, "Ay, tamad ka pala..." I just laughed finding no answer to his comment (brutal, hahaha) So here I am, posting something which I really do not know what to say...

All this time I have been thinking of posting something which is informative but I just couldn't. I am filled with too many thoughts to post. Next time I'll strive to get these thoughts in order and hopefully post them.

It's 5 minutes to 10PM now and we are still in the laboratory with our IT Pro class... Onaka ga suita ne... haha... jaa ne!

Overtime... chattin'...

Okay this is my second night sticking with my officemate's overtime. hahaha.. Since i am so deprived of Internet connection in the house (my sisters are always using the pc) I was given the chance to surf in our kaisha.. (thank God!)

This week was so exhausting attending to shin nikkeijin applications. So I thought why not unwind, surf the net, chat, and eat doubledutch ice cream! [nikkeijins always give food c",) ]

As I was surfing the net, Nori-san and Chet were talking about masonry, politics and other intellectual topics which I realized I was already behind the conversation. I envy them and I pity myself... How I wish I could talk like them too... I'll pose it a challenge for myself to be knowledgeable on the matters. But right now, I'll enjoy myself surfing the net and chatting... hahaha

I think I have to go now... Got something to catch up!

To Outsource or Not to Outsource

I agree with what the authors stated that external suppliers could provide a more efficient IT service than that of the in-house one. The reasons are fairly obvious. External suppliers are competitive enough than that of the internal ones. They are more adept and updated with emerging technologies and live in a very competitive world. Unlike the internal ones, they tend to be more passive. They cannot explore much of their knowledge and practices due to internal constraints even if these companies are established and own sophisticated technologies.

Outsourcing IT is a vital decision. If the company has its own IT department and planned of outsourcing it, I think it would be best if they collaborate with the suppliers. I agreed with the authors that internal IT people could work with the team so that the project will be built according to what is being planned. Managers, as what the authors stated, tend to pass the jobs to the outsiders because they thought that there are no internal people who are skilled enough to perform the duty. This usually causes an unsuccessful project. Since there is no collaborative effort on both parties, the project usually fails. External suppliers fail to deliver the project because the company is dissatisfied with it. If they work in a team, both parties will gain something from each other; external players to deliver the project successfully, and the company to be updated with new technology.

There are also cases of selective outsourcing which the author stated. The company must know what to outsource or not. In-house technology functions are usually not disclosed to outside providers for strategic competition. All other functions may be managed and dealt best by external ones. What should be done is to have a proper selection of what functions be outsourced from the company. That is the vital consideration the management must decide, moreso, if the company had already its own IT system and only needed updating. Since external providers are more adept to this situation, their services are needed. And I truly agree on that.

In deciding of whether IT be outsourced, one must look on the financial stability of the company and the in-depth skills of her internal IT people. In a small-scale company, outsourcing service will be best since the cost is less. For larger ones dealing with vital information, I would recommend that they utilize their own manpower but with the collaboration of the outside ones. Because large and vital information is the life of the company, proper management must be made.

Module 1 Intro to IT

Just finished taking the Module 1 (Intro to IT) Pre-test in our IT Pro subject. Though it was just an assessment of our stock knowledge, I was still tensed taking it. Who wouldn't be? We should get 85% or above to pass the module. I can't forget my hands shaking everytime I click the submit button and check if my answers were correct. It was a breath taking exam. Whew! We end up almost 12 midnight. Glad I passed it! Yipee!!!
